It is very important to know first hand knowledge about the place where you plan to go because it will spare you from troubles, money and time. If you are an informed traveler you will know what to do and be able to make the most out your time, effort and money. What then are the basic facts you should inquire about? First thing is to know what do you want to achieve in your travel. Objectives maybe for learning the culture of the country, adventure or mere sight seeing, it will all be up to you. Once you've identified the kind of things that you want to get in your travel, you will now be able to choose the particular spots that you want to visit. In choosing your spots, you have to consider the distance from one spot to another and the amount of time and money that you have. Identify first the time that you're going to spend and your budget for it. Based on your available time, choose the spots that are relevant to your purpose and know the facts on getting there and the time it will consume.
Another factor is the type of transportation available to get there. This could be by air, by water, by train, by bus, by taxi, by car or maybe can be done walking. The cheapest way is by walking and riding a bus and train. If the spots you have chosen can be reached by land, it is better to use this kind of transportation to save money but needs enough time. In using public vehicles you have to plan your itinerary by their schedule and make the best arrangement out of this because this is beyond our control. Sequence should be arranged based on the easiest way of transfer from one spot to another considering the availability of the place and the means of transportation. Most spots have designated time and day that it will be opened and some may have entrance fees. So it's better to research first the spots that you want to visit and there's a lot of information available in the internet. Once you have identified the spots, the time it will be available, the means of transportation, you will now be able to estimate the cost of your travel.
One effective way to make an itinerary is to make columns for the date and time, the activity, cost of the activity, food and accommodation, type of transportation and its cost. In this way, you will be able to know the amount of money that you're going to need or if the travel do not exceed your budget and if it does, you have to review it again and see what can be done to reduce costs and look for alternatives to make it cheaper. This may be through traveling at night while you sleep to save time so you can go to an extra spot and to save money on accommodation. On air travel, one way to save is to book your flight months earlier in a cheap airline. Most of these airlines have promos on early booking. Another is having a family or friend in your place of destination because they may accommodate you or drive you around if they have a car.
Once you have laid the particulars of your own travel, you can now consider what other things you need to know about the place you're going to and these are, the law, customs and traditions, moral beliefs and behaviors so you won't violate any of these and enjoy a lot of freedom in your travel. Most importantly is to get visa information and traveling requirements to enter the country of your choice for your nationality as there are citizens who enjoy ease in obtaining visas and there are nationalities that are strictly regulated.
These are just suggestions to be able to travel without much pain in your pocket but of course you can choose to make your travel as comfortable as you can by spending more money.

I Fell In Love With Laoag
I never really thought that Ilocos is a beautiful place to be and it never came to my list of “must go” places here in the Philippines Manila Manila to Laoag, Ilocos Norte then back to Vigan, Ilocos Sur, then to Baguio City

We went to Paoay first and looked at our then President Marcos and bought my big hat :) Then to San Agustin Church (one of UNESCO's heritage site) then ate empanada. After that, we headed to Paoay lake took pictures and headed to Fort Ilocandia. It's a wow resort. I never thought, a place as silent as Ilocos has that. It's so nice to stay there. We went to the Malacañang of the North but it was closed during that time too bad. But anyway, we went back to Laoag proper to have our lunch passing by the sand dunes as we go back (wow! there's a desert up there) After lunch, we headed up north to the old light house (sorry I can't remember it's name hehe) then to Bangui wind mills. The place was so windy and serene, I think I could stay there forever hehe just kidding. Might be scary at night :) We'd like to go straight to Pagudpud, a breathtaking world class beach resort but we were out of time.

All in all, it was a great trip even if we weren't able to go to Pagudpud. After all, the place we've visited were already beautiful. Such trip was more than we can ask for and that was one of the travels I couldn’t forget.

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES FOR ACCOUNTANTS
What are the expectations from the modern day accountants? As everything else evolves, accounting professionals face greater demands from their careers as they progress to fully develop their potentials. Tequila Party
I’m not fond of alcohol. I don’t even drink for social gatherings. Beside the fact that I’m allergic to it, it’s just that I don’t like it. But last New Year’s eve, I gave in to a dare. My younger sis said tequila hadn’t had an effect on her at 8 shots on her first time. That’s really something coz her friends gave in on the 3rd shot. It somehow made me curious bout my capacity so we went to a convenient store and bought tequila. The one thing we were looking for were not there so we tried another brand. It’s El Hombre Gold tequila 40% alcohol. Gosh it somehow scared me. I wonder if I’ll immediately get dead on the 1st shot hahaha. But anyway, we went home and set our tequila party after 12 midnight. We really don’t have to worry bout our behavior if we get wasted coz we’ll just be showing it at home. So we dressed up and went to church then celebrated the New Year with family at home.
After the midnight salu-salo, the tequila party officially began. My sis told me to get my stomach full with rice so I won’t get intoxicated. But I don’t feel like eating rice I’m so full I couldn’t eat it anymore. And so I went to begin my 1st ever tequila adventure and worry later bout my alcohol allergy attack. I’m not that afraid of it anymore coz I already forgot how it feels hahaha. I had my last allergy years ago. At first it feels awkward doing the tequila thing – the salt and the kalamansi. I wondered why does it have to be that way and I got my answer when I finally took my 1st shot. It was so alcohol and it hurt my mouth a bit – I didn’t like the taste. But on my 2nd shot, I got braver, I know what to expect now. And I was amazed at how fast I’ve learned. The 2nd shot went smoothly down my throat and it blended nicely with the citrus and salt. And for the 1st time, I appreciated it. I went on with my 3rd, 4th and 5th shot and never get dizzy yet. I just like the warm feeling it made to my body. I even like it because it doesn’t have an alcohol after taste or a trace of it when you burp. I was going to take my 6th shot when a fly went straight to the bottle and died instantly there hahaha. I was disappointed. I aimed at surpassing my sis performance on her first time. I’d like to be 1 shot ahead of her and still not dizzy. But then again, I couldn’t drink it anymore, the fly made it yucky. We left the bottle at the table and did something else only to find out later that my uncle took 3 shots of it (not aware of the fly swimming dead in it) and surrendered on the 3rd shot hahaha. That must really be strong. But then, I wasn’t able to truly measure my alcohol tolerance with that incident so I’ll do it some other time with my dorm mates or my sisters again and cousins. I left that thing for future fun and went to bed. And what I dreaded has happened I woke up with my skin swelling, itchy and so red. This is the price I have to pay for the fun the night before. Not so worth it though coz my purpose of doing it was not sufficed and I’ll have to do it again and go through this itchy allergy again.

ALWAYS YOUNG
Take care of your body
What you sow, you will reap. This is a very old saying proven to be so true. To keep ourselves young, we have to keep ourselves healthy. A healthy body feels vitality and emits vibrant energy. And when we do not take care of ourselves, it will get back to us sooner or later. So eat well, exercise, take supplements, maintain your weight and skin, keep your hair healthy so your body will respond with the same intensity of care you have given it and stays young.
Release negative thoughts and feelings
Fear, loneliness, uncertainties, anxieties, guilt, shame, anger, name it and we all have it. All these feelings will come in our life once in a while and disturb us. To stay young we should not dwell in painful and shameful experiences but instead thank God that He allows us to experience trials and failures to cleanse our soul and to prepare us for something better. All these are just passing so hold on tight and trust God that He has better plans for us. Release all these in prayer and in any way we can think of. We are never given such adversities if we won't be able to win over it. So have faith, stop worrying and maintain peace and happiness in our hearts to stay young.
Always do something new
To keep our soul young, we have to expose it always to something new and to something that will lift it up, make it curious, excited and young. We never grow old merely by age but by the way our soul survives and desires to live. So to keep it in a healthy state, it should always be stimulated by new things, motivated by inspiration and strengthened by prayer.
Have a positive attitude
It is true that life is really hard and sometimes frustrating but only to the people who never have the right attitude to cope the hardest of times. To stay young, one should try to approach things for the better. A positive attitude means that we should know how to treat negative and positive things alike in an objective and creative manner. We can't control the circumstances and the people that surrounds us. We can only control ourselves and thus, we can do something on how we approach things and should make do whatever it is that will make our life more happy, productive, and worth living that will keep our soul young.
Do good
Doing good is a good feeling and a young heart feels good. A heart that desires good will always do good and will feel good in every good things done. Good things are always positive and to fill our hearts and soul with only good will keep them light and unburdened and thus, will keep us young.

In a Different Light
I’ve heard a conversation between a 2-yr old child and a 56-yr old woman. I’ve even found it amusing… my attention was caught by the girl’s question… she was wearing dark sunglasses and the old woman was wearing clear eyeglasses. The girl asked, “is your surrounding dark?” the old woman smiled amused by the girl’s naivety. The old woman answered her “nope”. The girl further asked…“Why? Mine’s dark you know…” “…It’s because you’re wearing dark glasses and mine is clear…if you remove it your surrounding would be brighter…”
I was able to ponder on that simple encounter. That time I was bitter about something… I was even discontented and bored with my life. But I’ve realized that blessings are just there waiting to be noticed… to be seen clearly. I’ve recognized that I’m just refusing to see my obvious blessings. I now regret over the time spent sulking and hoping for something else when the good things are just around. I could have done a lot of things out of it. But I’ve wasted my time thinking how unfortunate I am. It’s a pity I never realized it immediately. I could have spared myself from the pains of feeling inadequate. Oh well if I hadn’t felt that I wouldn’t be able to appreciate things as intense as I appreciate it now. It is still a blessing then… see how the way you look at things can change how you feel and eventually your whole life!

Change
I got this friend who keeps on sending messages in my email account. Most of those are of the usual stuff. One day, my attention was caught by one of these messages. It was titled “Strategic Change”. The other messages could have been more striking but I found this one more notable. Maybe because this is what I’ve always wanted… CHANGE… not just a plain change but a
“STRATEGIC” one. So I commented on this and sent him a reply telling him what it did to me. And I got a more arresting phrase when I came to read his reply. It said, “If you do what you’ve always done then you’ll get what you’ve always got”. It made sense to me and maybe for others too. We kept on complaining whywe’re not getting anywhere and always have to content ourselves with what is at hand. Isn’t it time for us to change gears?
I’m the typical office employee who works 8 hours a day, deals with monotonous tasks at my desk and voila! my day is made without having to really think on how to spend it. Isn’t that nice, having my friend “routine” make everything easy for me? Instead, this cycle has made me restless. Comfort zone isn’t at all comfortable. Realization dawned on me… I’ve reached a bottleneck.
It seemed like I’ve ceased developing and that I’m living with no direction at all. And I certainly wouldn’t want to go back. I’ve gone this far but I don’t want to undo everything I’ve invested. It’s just that I want a way out. Just a little chance of learning more and growing and enhancing
and exploring… something I can call a liberating change. This change can mean a lot of things… it can be a change of lifestyle, of outlook, of goals, of preferences, of beliefs, of values, of strategies, of location, of dreams, of wants and needs, of friends… and even your whole life. Such changes, if carried out strategically, determine our destiny.
When we think of change, a lot of emotions will come out. One of them is fear – the fear for the unknown. It’s not very an entertaining thought leaping into something without knowing what awaits you when you get there. It certainly invites goose bumps. But it’s this same uncertainty that thrills us. There’s always adventure in taking risks… in deciding with only limited knowledge of what to come. Relying only on sound judgments and instincts and customizing each respond to certain situations when they come along. This can be both exhilarating and tormenting but would definitely bring out the creative and stronger side of us. These nerve-racking experiences brought by anticipation will bring us into a hell of a roller coaster ride,
which, if rode with ease and playfulness, will undeniably be a blissful ride.
“STRATEGIC” one. So I commented on this and sent him a reply telling him what it did to me. And I got a more arresting phrase when I came to read his reply. It said, “If you do what you’ve always done then you’ll get what you’ve always got”. It made sense to me and maybe for others too. We kept on complaining whywe’re not getting anywhere and always have to content ourselves with what is at hand. Isn’t it time for us to change gears?
I’m the typical office employee who works 8 hours a day, deals with monotonous tasks at my desk and voila! my day is made without having to really think on how to spend it. Isn’t that nice, having my friend “routine” make everything easy for me? Instead, this cycle has made me restless. Comfort zone isn’t at all comfortable. Realization dawned on me… I’ve reached a bottleneck.
It seemed like I’ve ceased developing and that I’m living with no direction at all. And I certainly wouldn’t want to go back. I’ve gone this far but I don’t want to undo everything I’ve invested. It’s just that I want a way out. Just a little chance of learning more and growing and enhancing
and exploring… something I can call a liberating change. This change can mean a lot of things… it can be a change of lifestyle, of outlook, of goals, of preferences, of beliefs, of values, of strategies, of location, of dreams, of wants and needs, of friends… and even your whole life. Such changes, if carried out strategically, determine our destiny.
When we think of change, a lot of emotions will come out. One of them is fear – the fear for the unknown. It’s not very an entertaining thought leaping into something without knowing what awaits you when you get there. It certainly invites goose bumps. But it’s this same uncertainty that thrills us. There’s always adventure in taking risks… in deciding with only limited knowledge of what to come. Relying only on sound judgments and instincts and customizing each respond to certain situations when they come along. This can be both exhilarating and tormenting but would definitely bring out the creative and stronger side of us.
